Joseph Yobo’s Wife Opens Up On How His Retirement Affected Their Marriage

MBGN 2008 winner, Adaeze Yobo, who is also the wife of popular footballer, Joseph Yobo, has opened up on her husband’s retirement and how it affected their marriage.
Tracknews reports that the mother of one in a recent chat with Mercy Johnson Okojie in her cooking show, disclosed that even though his retirement made her happy, she was bothered about the footballer.
She said: “I was happy he retired, we traveled around, moved around, and stayed around 5 different cities but I had the fear of how he will cope cos he breathes football and that is how he makes money, I spoke to him and talked him through it and he came out okay cos I told him it’s okay for him to tell me when he feels sad.”
Our Marriage Has Been Beautiful
Shedding light on their marriage, which recently turned 12 years, Adaeze Yobo stated that it has been beautiful.
Adaeze said: “We met when I was 19 and he was blunt, he knew what he wanted from day one. I want to be your friend, he didn’t beat around the bush…a month later he gave me a promise ring and said he wanted to marry me. I told my mum and she is like what about your university education but he promised he will let me go to school and support me through it even in marriage and he did. I went to school in LA.”
