The Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC) has officially announced the timetable for the highly anticipated Local Government elections set for November 2nd, 2024.

2. Political Party Primaries:
Tuesday, 24th September – Wednesday, 2nd October 2024
3. Submission of Candidates by Political Parties:
Friday, 4th October – Sunday, 6th October 2024
4. Screening of Candidates by ABSIEC:
Monday, 7th October – Wednesday, 9th October 2024
5. Hearing of Appeals/Complaints by Screening Committee:
Thursday, 10th October – Friday, 11th October 2024
6. Substitution and Screening of Substituted Candidates:
Sunday, 13th October – Monday, 14th October 2024
7. Final Publication of Candidate List:
Tuesday, 15th October – Wednesday, 16th October 2024
8. Electioneering Campaigns:
Thursday, 17th October – Thursday, 31st October 2024
9. Notice of Polls:
Friday, 18th October 2024
10. Local Government Elections:
Saturday, 2nd November 2024
11. Run-off Elections (if applicable):
