JUST IN: APC agent arrested for buying votes in Osun [PHOTOS]

On Saturday morning, security personnel apprehended one Iyabo Adesina, a suspected vote-buyer in Osun State.

The suspect, an All Progressives Congress (APC) agent, was apprehended with a bag of cash while “inducing voters” shortly after the governorship election began.

The suspect was apprehended and questioned.

According to Track News, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) warned on Friday of strict enforcement of rules against cash inducement of voters while announcing its partnership with anti-graft agencies such as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICP).

In related news, security personnel assigned to monitor the ongoing governorship election in Osun State apprehended a suspected hoodlum armed with charms.

The suspect, identified as Ezekiel, was apprehended by Nigerian police in the Ifofin area of Ilesha, Osun State.

According to reports, the suspect claimed to be from Lagos and needed to travel to Ilesha for work.

Today, up to 1,955,657 registered voters in Osun State are expected to exercise their franchise across the state’s 3,763 polling units to elect a new governor in a close race.

The election is expected to be a straight duel between incumbent governor Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Lasun Yusuf of the Labour Party, Goke Omigbodun of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and Akin Ogunbiyi of the Accord Party are also running.
