Following a recent publication from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Official Twitter handle and other social media platforms claiming that justice A. T. Mohammed of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt had convicted and sentenced George Turnah a former Special Adviser to a former NDDC Boss Dan Abia, for offences of obtaining money by False Pretence, Money Laundering and forgery to six- year in prison.

However, George Turnah in a protest letter addressed to the Chairman of EFCC on his behalf by his attorney has insisted that the entire 23 counts charge of obtaining money under false pretence, money laundering and forgery brought against him by the efcc collapsed completely, stating that Hon. Justice A.T. Mohammed, in his judgement of 7th September 2023, held that the efcc failed to prove any of the 23 count charges against him.

In the letter, a copy of which is obtained by the Tracknews, George Turnah noted that the efcc has since appealed against the said judgement together with a motion for stay of execution.

This is coming a few hours ago after the EFCC stormed the internet space to further indict George Turnah with such judgement from a Federal High Court seated in Port Harcourt that claimed Turnah and two others were sentenced to a six-year jail term for an offence of obtaining money by false pretence, laundering and forgery as charged by the efcc.

Turnah, in the protest letter cleared the air, insisting that he was never convicted nor sentenced by the said court for any of the 23 count charges brought against him by the Commission and therefore demanded an apology from the EFCC for misleading the general public..
