JUST IN: Gov Sanwo-Olu of Lagos departs for China

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has embarked on a trip to Beijing, the capital of China, with the aim of delivering on his commitment to provide a multimodal transportation system for the public.
During his visit, Governor Sanwo-Olu will engage in trade and investment discussions with top officials at the headquarters of China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC).
The Governor is expected to inspect various ongoing projects undertaken by CCECC in Beijing, including the Signaling System (CBTC etc.) and Metro projects.

Later in the week, Governor Sanwo-Olu will travel from Beijing to Dalian to visit the headquarters of China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation and the CRRC Lvshun base.
He will hold a high-level official meeting with the chairman of CRRC Dalian, a subsidiary of China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation. The agenda will include technical discussions on the DMUs for the Red Line and EMUs for the Blue Line, involving representatives from LAMATA, CCECC, and CRRC Dalian.
TrackNews Media gathered that the visit is part of the Lagos State government’s efforts to enhance transportation infrastructure and explore strategic partnerships with Chinese companies known for their expertise in large-scale construction and transportation projects.
