JUST IN: National Assembly members insist on impeaching Buhari Exactly 21

Members of the National Assembly have insisted that they will carry out their promise to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari when the six-week deadline expires.

According to Track News, Nigeria is facing a number of challenges, the most serious of which is security.

Attacks by criminal gangs and terrorists have occurred in many regions, most recently in Abuja, the capital.

On July 5, hundreds of prisoners were released from Abuja prison, including some who had been convicted or charged with terrorism.

Another issue is large-scale kidnappings from schools, and authorities recently ordered the closure of public and private schools in Abuja to prevent children from being abducted.

The final warning to Buhari about worsening insecurity expires in four weeks, and opposition lawmakers in the National Assembly have said they will not back down from their decision to impeach the President.

Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) representing Osun East senatorial district; Enyinnaya Abaribe, former minority leader of the Senate; Toby Okechukwu, the Deputy Minority Leader of the ninth House of Representatives, Toby Okechukwu (PDP, Enugu); and Nicholas Tofowomo, Senator representing Ondo South Senatorial District, all spoke with journalists

“You heard Senator Clifford (Ordia) from Edo, Senator Bulkachuwa (Mohammed), and the rest are in support of the impeachment,” Fadahunsi said.

“We are not backing down on the impeachment move, and I will not back down,” he added.
