JUST-IN: Police declare Portable wanted, slam attempted murder and four other alleged offences on him

The Ogun State Police Command has officially declared popular artiste Portable wanted, accusing him of various serious offences, including attempted murder and four other related crimes. The police allege his involvement in a violent assault against government officials who were performing their lawful duties. Other charges against him include conspiracy and unlawfully possessing dangerous weapons.
As detailed in a statement by SP Omolola Odutola, the command’s spokesperson, an incident on February 5, 2025, unfolded around 10:00 AM when officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development’s Ota Zonal Office—identified as TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi—were executing an enforcement exercise in the Tigbo Ilu Ota area. They interacted with an elderly man, later revealed to be Portable’s father, at the Odogwu Bar, during which they sought to verify the approved building plan. The father informed them that Portable was not present.
Shortly after, Portable allegedly appeared on the scene, wielding a firearm and accompanied by nine thugs, and launched a violent assault on the unarmed officials. The enforcement team suffered various injuries, but managed to safely retreat and reported the incident to the Ota Area Command. The case was subsequently transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for detailed investigation.
While nine of the thugs were apprehended, Portable reportedly evaded capture and has remained in hiding. Despite multiple formal requests for his appearance at the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, he has consistently ignored these summonses. Consequently, a court has sanctioned his arrest, declaring him wanted.
The command has urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement by providing any information that could facilitate Portable’s arrest, emphasizing that anyone aiding the suspect will be subject to legal consequences. Citizens are encouraged to relay any tip-offs either directly to the nearest police station or through the official channels of the Ogun State Police Command’s public relations office.
