JUST IN: Presidential Election Petition Tribunal Judgement to be Broadcasted Live
The much-anticipated verdict of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPT) is set to be broadcasted live on Wednesday, September 6th.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the verdict will be delivered by a five-member panel of judges led by Justice Haruna Tsammani.
The panel is hearing a petition filed by the Labour Party (LP), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), as well as their presidential candidates, challenging the election of President Bola Tinubu as the winner of the 2023 presidential election.
Court of Appeal Registrar Umar Bangari confirmed the development to Channels Television on Monday, saying the proceedings will be open to live broadcast by interested television stations.
The tribunal is also expected to deliver verdicts on 25 other election petitions, including those for governorship, National Assembly, and state assembly elections.
The results of the polls announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are being contested in no fewer than 25 states out of the 28 states where elections were conducted.
