Facebook is reportedly down as thousands of Facebook users have taken to other social media platforms to complain as they are unable to access their accounts on the Meta platform.

Some users on X are in bewilderment as their Facebook account automatically logged them out and attempts to log in proved difficult.

There are questions and speculations on the spread as to what must have caused the outage as an official statement from Meta is being expected to explain the downtime.

The outage reportedly began at 3pm and continues to be facing struggles for many users at the time of writing.

Is Facebook and Instagram down?
Users of the blue platform have taken to X, formally known as Twitter, to share their concerns over the outage.

As one user wrote: “Anyone else’s #Facebook logged out? Can’t log back in, keeps saying session expired or unexpected error.”

Another added: “Got logged out of Facebook and Instagram not loading. First thought was, Are my accounts being hacked?! Luckily its just #facebookdown and #instagramdown.”

One more user wrote: “Hello Facebook Anyone else’s #Facebook logged out? Can’t log back in, keeps saying session expired or unexpected error? #facebookdown #meta.”

The social media platforms Instagram and Facebook, both owned by Meta, are currently experiencing an outage. If you are having trouble logging in, there is no need to panick, you didn’t get hacked (I panicked too).
