JUST-IN; Sanwo-Olu Suspends Aide for Claiming Those Behind TVC Attack During #EndSars Have Been Executed

According to The Nation, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has decided to suspend his Senior Special Assistant on Print Media, Wale Ajetunmobi, after he claimed those behind TVC Attack During #EndSars have been executed.
The announcement was made through a statement posted on the official X account of the Lagos State Government on Tuesday, November 26.
According to the statement, Ajetunmobi’s suspension was triggered by his inaccurate representation of facts regarding a previous incident on his personal X account.
The Governor’s office emphasized that the administration does not condone any extrajudicial actions and is committed to upholding the principles of justice and integrity.
The controversy erupted when Ajetunmobi, under the handle #Riddwane, claimed that individuals responsible for the 2020 arson attack on Television Continental (TVC) during the #EndSARS protests had been “hunted down and executed.”
He suggested that a detailed account of this situation, which he referred to as “the full story,” would be shared in the future, including graphic content. Ajetunmobi specifically mentioned an incident involving a young gas trader from Ketu, who he alleged was found with an AK-47 at the scene of the attack, shocking his neighbors with this revelation.
The Governor’s issuance of the suspension demonstrates the administration’s commitment to maintaining a responsible and principled approach in communications and public statements.
It is clear that Governor Sanwo-Olu aims to distance his administration from any narrative suggesting violence or extrajudicial repercussions, emphasizing that such behavior is not reflective of their values.
