JUST IN: Supreme Court Justice Chima Nweze is Dead

Justice Chima Centus Nweze of the Supreme Court of Nigeria died on Sunday at the age of 64.
TrackNews Media reports that Justice Nweze was born on September 25, 1958, in Obollo, Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State.
He was appointed to the Supreme Court in 2014 by former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Justice Nweze was known for his dissenting opinions in several high-profile cases. In 2020, he dissented from the majority opinion that overturned the election of Emeka Ihedioha as governor of Imo State.
He also dissented from the majority opinion that declared Ahmad Lawan the authentic candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the Yobe North Senatorial District.
The Supreme Court has not yet confirmed his death.
