JUST IN: Wike Holds Meeting With APC Leader
Mohammed Oluwatimileyin Taoheed reports,
Hon. Nyesom Wike, the incumbent Governor of Rivers State, is reportedly having a closed-door meeting with the immediate-past Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari.
Our Correspondent says that that Yari paid a visit to the PDP leader on Tuesday at his private residence in Port Harcourt.
Track News Nigeria learnt that Yari upon arrival at Wike’s residence, located in Rumuepriokom community in Obio/Akpor local government area of the State, went into a closed-door meeting with Rivers State governor.
Similarly, Abdullahi Adamu who is the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, has earlier argued that he was not aware of any plan to woo the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.
Recall that Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State had led Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State to meet with Wike.
Track News Nigeria reports that the APC Governors took advantage of the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to meet with Wike and convince him to join the ruling party.
Adamu claimed he was not aware about the visit to Wike or the feedback of the meeting.
