Kaduna: Fuel now costs N330 per litre, queues are growing despite a DSS ultimatum to NNPC and others

Despite a 48-hour deadline given to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPC), Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), and oil marketers to end the fuel queue, fuel prices have continued to rise.

Track News recalls that the Department of State Services (DSS) issued a 48-hour deadline to the NNPC, IPMAN, and other oil sector stakeholders on Thursday to resolve the current fuel crisis.

However, the price of fuel per litre increased to N330 per litre on Saturday, while several motorists waited in line at various filling stations.

Although managers at Oando, Legacy, Crown, and Morocco filling stations were unsure of the exact date for the arrival of fuel, motorists and car owners have vowed to wait until the commodity arrives.

“I’ve been here for three days because I heard a tank was delivering fuel to Oando, but we have yet to see fuel,” one of the drivers explained.

According to Mr. Joseph Iduh, who said he had been waiting since Saturday morning, “one of the fuel attendants called me that there will be fuel in the next two hours.”

Many motorists preparing to travel this holiday season have yet to receive any relief following the DSS’s ultimatum.
