Kaduna residents make last-minute purchase ahead of New Year
Although prices of foodstuff; rice, yam, corn, millet, sugar, tomatoes and other ingredients remained expensive, various markets and shops across the state were filled to capacity as members of the public rushed to make last minute purchases.
Many residents were seen confidently moving around, unlike previous years of bomb scares, gunshots from bandits.
Several residents have been keeping all night since Friday, December 30, 2022, singing praises, dancing and celebrating God’s guidance throughout the year 2022 as there was no reported case of bandits attack
It’s on record that market women, assorted store owners, beverages make brisk businesses during festive period such as New year and Christmas
According to Johnson Thomas, who sells beverages, “Since Friday, I have made 100k from the sales of beverages”.
Also, Mrs Williams Grace, who sells tomatoes, fish, garri “I have made a lot of money since two days ago. Several customers were coming to buy foodstuff because there was no bush market during this period. I made a lot of sales,” she said.
Also, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa, who sells goats, sheep, and cows at the Central Market, said he had only two goats, three cows.
