The Super Eagles forward was on target in Girondins de Bordeaux’s 3-1 loss to Galatasaray in a pre-season friendly game a fortnight ago to at least show that he is raring to go.

The 21-year-old who was part of Nigeria’s bronze-winning squad at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt returned in time for the French side to feature in the game and made his presence felt, scoring a consolatory goal.

Kalu has also received the backing of Nigeria’s national team manager, Gernot Rohr who told girondins4ever.com during a recent interview that “Bordeaux can count on a Samuel Kalu in top form.

The German tactician also said, “With Nigeria’s physical trainer, Kalu was prepared a special program after his health scare. This allowed him to restore his health and now, Bordeaux can count on him.”
