Katsina Assembly holds valedictory session, passes 54 bills, 324 motions
The Speaker Katsina State House of Assembly, Hon. Tasiu Maigari on Wednesday announced the dissolution of the 7th Assembly.
Tasiu, who made the announcement shortly after delivering his valedictory speech, described members of the 7th Assembly as one of the best ever produced in the state.
The Speaker also commended the immediate past Katsina Governor, Aminu Bello Masari for his fatherly support, advice and cooperation to the 7th Assembly.
Meanwhile, Tasiu has disclosed that a total of 54 bills were passed in the last four years by members of the 7th Assembly of which the Masari administration assented to over 80 per cent of them.
He further noted that about 324 motions were also passed and the executive were able to implement only 74 out of them.
Some of the bills passed as disclosed by the Katsina Speaker include: Katsina State House of Assembly Commission Law,
discrimination law against persons with disability, law promoting children access to basic education and connected matters, the revenue harmonization law, among others
