Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has assured victims of the recent Lakurawa attacks in Arewa Local Government Area that his administration will take swift action to resettle them.

During a condolence visit on Wednesday to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Kangiwa, Kebbi State, Idris pledged immediate relief efforts and long-term support for those affected.

The camp currently houses victims displaced from Birnin Debe, Dan Marke, and Tambo, where armed assailants attacked last Saturday, killing 11 people and setting a village on fire.

According to a statement by Yahaya Sarki, the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Idris visited the camp to console the victims and assess the situation firsthand to guide government intervention.

Relief Measures and Security Concerns

Expressing sorrow over the loss of lives and property, Idris commended security agencies for their efforts but noted that many attacks originated from neighboring Sokoto State and Niger Republic.
