Kogi State Gov. Seeks Collaboration With FGN Power Company To Enhance Power Supply
On Friday, Kogi State Governor Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo visited the FGN Power Company in Abuja to explore opportunities for greater collaboration aimed at improving power supply to Kogi State.
Governor Ododo was welcomed by Mr. Kenny Anuku, the MD/CEO of FGN Power, who was commended for the company’s previous interventions in Kogi State. The governor emphasized that reliable power supply is central to his administration’s industrialization efforts, stating, “Without adequate power supply, industries will continue to struggle.”
He highlighted Kogi’s strategic position as the central hub of Nigeria, noting, “Our tax administration, excellent security network, and robust economic policies have madeur State a destination of choice for some industrial giants. However, sustaining the ones we have as well as attracting more depends on the power supply.”
Governor Ododo further stated, “Power is critical to socio-economic development in our dear State,” and expressed his commitment to deepening the partnership with FGN Power to enhance electricity delivery to both industries and homes.
In response, Mr. Anuku praised the governor’s youthful dynamism and determination to improve power supply. He assured that FGN Power is committed to doing more for Kogi State and encouraged the state government to participate in the company’s Investment Program aimed at enhancing distribution infrastructure.
The governor was accompanied by key officials, including his Chief of Staff, Hon. Ali Bello; Commissioner for Energy and Rural Development, Engr AbdulMutalib Mohammed; Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Deedat Ozigi; and Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo.
