Kwara PDP Deputy Governor Candidate Charges Stakeholders with Promoting Peace
By Adeleye Kunle
Hon. Gbenga Makanjuola, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDPKwara )’s State Deputy Governorship candidate, stressed the importance of peace and unity among all party stakeholders in Kwara South in order for the party to win the state’s next general election.
Makanjuola, a two-term member of the House of Representatives who represented the federal constituency of Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero/Ekiti in the National Assembly, stated this in Omu-Aran during the Kwara South PDP stakeholders’ consultation meeting.
He added that the development was also necessary in light of the need to avoid any actions that might prevent the party from unseating the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government in the next elections.
The former federal lawmaker added that the party has regained its pride among the country’s political parties, noting that “it is high time the party stakeholders desist from actions that may impede progress.”
He believes that “there is a need to consolidate this grip by embracing peace and unity in order to crown it with the state’s forthcoming general election victory.”
Makanjuola thanked former Kwara State Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed for his unwavering support for the Kwara South PDP and the state.
