Kwara receives additional supply of 43 trucks of petrol

Ilorin, Kwara State capital, on Friday received additional 43 trucks of petrol supply as some parts of the country battle with fuel crisis.
Impeccable sources in the independent marketers union disclosed to Track News in Ilorin on Friday.
The sources explained that filling stations in rural areas were being served, hence, the long queues still being experienced in some filling stations selling at the official pump price in Ilorin, the state capital.
It is expected that by the weekend or Monday, the situation regarding fuel supply in Ilorin would ease.
While independent marketers who have received supply still sell at the inflated pump price of between N220 and N260 per litre, major marketers of the product have continued to sell at the official pump price of N190 or N195 at their filling stations in the Ilorin metropolis.
Consequently, commercial motorcyclists, known as Okada and tricycle operators (Keke Napep) have hiked their fares from N100 to N150 or N200 per drop in the state capital depending on the distance.
Findings by our correspondent also showed that the black market dealers of the product have disappeared from the roadside following the massive supply of petrol to the state.
Recall that black marketers sold a gallon of four of five litres of petrol at between N1,600 or N2,000 as scarcity resurfaced in Ilorin a few days ago
