Lagos police arrests man accused of injuring 11-year old son that can’t recite Quran
Police operatives in Lagos State have arrested a man accused of injuring his 11-year old son for not being able to recite the Holy Quran.
The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (LSDSVA) reportedly acted on a viral video in social media, where the suspect was brutalizing the innocent boy.
In the video the man was seeing using belt to whip the boy, who desipte bleeding excessively kept beating him for not being able to recite Quran.
The spokesperson for the LSDSVA, Joke Ladenegan-Oginni, in a statement, disclosed that the father had been arrested and detained at the Meiran Police Division.
According to her: “The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (LSDSVA) received a report of assault on an 11-year-old boy from a concerned citizen.
“The boy has haematuria (blood in urine), two episodes of loss of consciousness, bleeding from the ears and nostrils.
“The child is receiving medical attention facilitated by the Lagos State Ministry of Health and the Primary Health Care Board.
“So, we are advising the residents to report all cases of abuse, assault and sexual violence against persons to our agency.”
