Lawan Reveals When Buhari Will Sign 2023 Budget

The details of the meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and Senate President Ahmed Lawan have emerged.
Tracknews earlier reported that President Buhari held a closed-door meeting with Lawan in his office in the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Friday, December 30.
Speaking with State House Correspondent after the meeting, Lawan said he briefed President Buhari on the passage of the Appropriation Bill, the 2022 Supplementary Appropriation Bill and the Finance Bill, and general elections among other issues of national interest.
The President of the National Assembly said the Nigerian leader will sign the 2023 Appropriation Bill on Tuesday, 3rd January 2023, adding that the National Assembly looks forward to the presidential assent on the first work day of the New Year.
The Senate President, however, explained that the delay in the passage of the bill was owing to some anomalies in the figures presented to the National Assembly.
Tracknews reports that in the last four years, this would be the first appropriation bill to be assented to by the President after the New Year.
