LOKPOBIRI TO HOSTCOM : FG Wants More Production, You Want More Money

***Says 3% is a Good Beginning, Though Not The Best
Minister of State Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri has assured Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas, HOSTCOM of the Federal Government commitment to develop the Niger Delta region.
While commending the leadership of the HOSTCOM, led by its National President, Benjamin Style Tamaranebi, the Petroleum minister, Senator Lokpobiri appealed to communities in the Niger Delta to sustain peace and increase the daily production of crude oil.
“Before the Tinubu administration, daily crude oil production was less than one million barrels, but today, daily production is 1.7 million barrels. To sustain this, let’s collectively work as a team to end pipeline vandalism, this is the only way the trust fund for HOSTCOM will increase and more money for NDDC. For instance, within these few years of PIA, the HOSTCOM Trust Fund is in the neighborhood of two hundred billion naira”.
The minister further appealed to the HOSTCOM delegation to handle any misunderstanding within the ranks of the organization at the community levels in order to access the fund.
President of HOSTCOM, Chief Benjamin Style Tamaranebi had earlier commended the transformation leadership style of the Petroleum minister, Heineken Lokpobiri and passed a vote of confidence on him and called on Niger Delta so to rally support for the minister.
HOSTCOM however appealed for upward review of the 3% Trust Fund to 10% based on current realities at the moment and also requested for permanent national secretariat, buses to facilitate movement and resuscitation of the nation’s refineries.
