Loosing George Turnah To APC Will Be a Disaster To PDP In Ogbia LGA, APC Youth Leader Warns Gov. Diri.

**Says Alabh George Turnah Has Sacrificed So Much To Be Neglected By Gov. Diri, Or Suspended By PDP.

A youth stakeholder of the All progressives Congress APC in PopBayelsa state Hon. Pedrick Eluan has condemned the harsh treatment of the Governor Douye Diri led prosperity administration on Chief George ALABH Turnah and by extension the entire Kolo community. Hon pedrick Eluan who has been following the political intricacies of the People’s Democratic party PDP in the state, notes with great disdain how the PDP has sidelined the PDP chieftain who sacrificed personal gains for the victory of Governor Douye Diri in a period when OGBIA LG.A was raptured by the APC.

With rising political permutations in the state, It is ridiculous to hear rumours or plots by the state PDP working committee to suspend Barr George Alabh Turnah MON from a party he gave his all.

In a detailed statement of a basket full of contributions by the kolo born grassroot politician, Hon Pedrick Eluan writes:

“George Alabh Turnah, MON, has been a positive phenomenon in the PDP in Bayelsa State from his days as a student union activist. Always using his natural resources to invest and garnered support for the party and candidates before elections, during elections and after elections.

About six years ago, particularly in the election processes that brought in the current administration, and the take-off stage of “Prosperity” government in Bayelsa State, PDP in Ogbia LGA was approaching zero; infinitesimal.

Ogbia kingdom didn’t support PDP for obvious political reasons; so the party saw an exodus of its bigwigs to the All Progressives Congress at the time.

Traditional institutions and political elites took to the microphone to make strong declarations against PDP and its candidate, because the then governor needed to be in the senate and the deputy governor must come from the West and not Ogbia.

It took a courageous young Kolo born unionist, legal practitioner and politician to interven. Turnah and his armies stayed loyal to the PDP as well as the candidate, who has been his personal friend. He dared the kingdom to raise an alternative political opinion, then, declaring Ogbia LGA for PDP; emphasising why it must vote PDP and its candidate.

No other amount of love or loyalty can be greater than that. Sadly, five years into the administration, no meaningful appointment or elective position; no single state government awarded project; not one in Kolo federated communities, not even any in Ogbia ward 9, where Turnah hails from and produces great numbers of votes for PDP in almost all the elections.

I can recall that in 2019, Turnah was almost a lone fighter for the PDP at the collation center at Ogbia town, after a heavy display of economic and political firepower at the collation center. He did not betray.

In 2023, Turnah, again, but this time, surported by Chief Ibu Williams Mizodome, then caretaker chairman of Ogbia LGA, stayed alive in the collation room throughout the night in total commitment to PDP and its candidate.

All efforts by the All Progressives Congress (APC), my beloved party’s leadership to win the LGA in the collation room iether by any means neccessary was vehemently resisted by the Kolo born political tactician, George Turnah MON, who was Diri and PDP’s agent.

It turned out surprisingly to many that the final result as announced by INEC saw the PDP winning Ogbia LGA in the last governorship election.

If you check the trend of results in the general elections, PDP lost the Senate in Anyama Clan where the Party’s candidate comes from. The winning votes came in from Turnah’s Kolo (Emeyal) Clan.

The House of Representatives result was no different as the PDP struggled to win in Oloibiri Clan, but harvested the winning votes in Turnah’s Ogbia Constituency 3.

A strategic system with a sense of conscience will rather make efforts to engage with Turnah, which has been so badly treated and humiliated in the very party (PDP) he gave in his neck for; instead of picking up a fight against him.

Getting the ward or state exco to suspend him will amount to a nullity, because he is a member of the Zonal Working Committee. Only the Zonal Executive Committee can validly suspend him.

PDP will risk its last cord if the party picks a fight with Barr. George Alabh Turnah, MON. Who has laboured all his youthful energy for the party.

I am an unrepentant APC youth stakeholder in Ogbia LGA and Bayelsa State. I know for sure that Barr. Alabh George Turnah will fare better in APC. I will be glad to have the political mathematician, MON in my party, the All Progressives Congress”
