Makinde appoints more aides, board chairmen, members
OYRTMA to clampdown on tricyclists without permit, defaced windscreen
Oyo State governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has approved the appointments of new board chairmen, Executive Advisers, a Special Assistant and board members.
The governor, in a letter signed by his Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwuyi, indicated that Babalola Afobaje has been appointed as the chairman of the Oyo State Rural Water and Sanitation Agency.
A former chairman of the Oyo State Road Transport Maintenance Agency, Akin Fagbemi, has been appointed as the chairman of the Oyo State Hospitals Management Board.
Similarly, a former chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Ademola Omotosho, has been appointed as the chairman of the Oyo State Housing Corporation, while Adeoye Adekola has been appointed as the chairman of the Oyo State Board for Technical and Vocational Education.
Falana Adebowale Adebayo has also been appointed as the chairman of the Oyo State Youth Development Agency.
The governor has equally appointed a former Member of the House of Representatives, Busari Olayemi, as his Executive Adviser on Inter-Party Affairs, while a former Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Seun Fakorede, was appointed as Executive Adviser on Youth and Sports.
Governor Makinde also appointed Doshima Josephine Aneh as Special Assistant on Inter-Governmental Affairs & Northern States Liaison, while he also approved the appointments of Hameed Shittu Adebayo, Mrs. Wunmi Funmi Odutayo, Mrs. Jadesola Olufunke Ajibola and Mrs. Adebobola Ololade Agbeja as members of the Board of Oyo State Community & Social Development Agency.
The Governor also approved that Akinsete Olakunle, who had earlier been appointed as Special Adviser on Housing and Urban Development, will now move to the board of Oyo State Housing Corporation as a representative of Oyo South.
Others appointed to the board of the Oyo State Housing Corporation are Mojisola Adeyemi, representing Oyo Central, and Lizzie Adedoyin, representing Oyo North.
The duo of Adefabi F. Dasola and Kafayat Olayiwola were appointed to the board of Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency, representing Oyo North and Oyo South respectively.

In another development, the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority has said tricycle riders must get a hackney permit, revenue ticket to operate in the state.
This warning was given by OYRTMA chairman, Major Adesagba Adekoya (rtd) in Ibadan on Thursday.
The Chairman noted that tricycle riders fond of defacing their windscreen with different stickers aside hackney permit and revenue ticket will be apprehended.
He noted that unnecessary stickers on windscreens are one of the factors that cause accidents on the roads.
Adekoya added that safety of lives and property is an obligation of all stakeholders and road users.
In a related development, the Chairman, has directed all OYRTMA commanders to mobilize their personnel as from Monday, May 20 for enforcement of a special operation, tagged “Operation Stop and Remove Stickers on Tricycle Windscreen”.
Adekoya also said roadside automobile mechanics sighted around Aliwo road and setback of water reservoir, Agodi gate Ibadan to vacate the premises immediately.
He frowned at the unwholesome act by the mechanics, saying their acts constitute safety hazard and environmental infraction in the area.
The Chairman therefore said the roadside automobile mechanics must stop their activities and vacate the spot with immediate effect.
