Makinde fires LAUTECH VC, Michael Ologunde

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has ordered the Vice-Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Prof Michael Ologunde to vacate office.
The letter was signed by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Olasunkanmi Olaleye.
Olaleye directed Ologunde to “‘step aside until further notice.”
He was directed to hand over to the next principal officer in rank in order to ensure uninterrupted flow of normal activities.
No reason was given for the sack. Ologunde reportedly drew Makinde’s anger for allegedly inciting workers of the institution over unpaid salaries.
LAUTECH, formerly jointly owned with Osun State, is now under the sole control of the Oyo government.
The governor inaugurated the new Governing Council on April 1.
