Man Kills Brother Over 13-Year-Old Girlfriend

A tragic incident unfolded in the Mbagassina Subdivision of the Mbam and Kim Division in the Centre Region of Cameroon, as a Cameroonian man lost his life during a violent altercation with his brother over a 13-year-old girl. While the incident occurred over the weekend, the news took some time to reach the wider public due to limited connectivity in the area.

According to local media MMI, the two brothers engaged in a heated fight, driven by their conflicting claims over the young girl who is still in her teenage years. Witnesses at the scene described the circumstances surrounding the conflict. Gildas, one such witness, revealed that the deceased brother believed the girl to be his girlfriend. Suspicion had been growing within him regarding his brother’s relationship with the girl, owing to their close proximity.

The confrontation reached its boiling point when one of the brothers, having previously searched for the girl unsuccessfully, coincidentally encountered her in the company of his sibling. Seizing the opportunity to question her presence, the situation escalated as the other brother stepped in to defend the girl. Overwhelmed by anger, the aggrieved brother stormed back to their residence, where he retrieved a machete, initiating the violent encounter. In self-defense, the other brother swiftly armed himself with a knife, leading to a fatal outcome for one of them.

Both brothers suffered severe injuries during the altercation, but the brother who had sustained a stab wound to the chest tragically succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.

The community mourns the loss of life and the deeply distressing circumstances that led to this unfortunate incident.
