Matawalle expresses sympathy to the families of the victims of collateral damage in Dansadau.
Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara State has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of those killed in military operations against marauding bandits in the state’s Dansadau, Maru Local Government Area.
The Governor was saddened to learn of the latest development, in which the Nigerian Air Force eliminated a marauding band of bandits who, unfortunately, caught a number of civilians, leaving a mixed bag of casualties involving both bandits and civilians.
The Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Zailani Bappa, signed and issued a press statement to journalists in Gusau, the State capital.
“This unfortunate incident has occurred at a time when both the state government and the Nigerian military are poised to effectively end the bandit menace, particularly by taking the fight to their enclaves,” the statement said.
“I wish to express my heartfelt condolences to those who have been injured and the families of those who have died as a result of this collateral damage on behalf of myself, my family, the state government, and the entire good people of Zamfara State.”
“The state government has already swung into action to address the incident’s remote and immediate causes in order to avoid any further ugly incidents like this one in the future.”
