Military promises sustained battle against bandits in Northwest
The Nigerian Army has assured that it will continue to give bandits tough fights even in their criminal hideouts in Zamfara and other States affected by banditry, kidnappings and other criminalities.
The Commandant, 1 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Gusau, who doubles as the sector I Commander of operation Hadarin Daji, Brigadier General Sani Ahmed revealed this during a two-day training aimed at enhancing air communication between air and ground troops
It was gathered that Operation Hadarin Daji was established to fight criminality in the troubled states of Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, Zamfara and parts of Niger.
The North West zone is being ravaged by bandits and other criminal elements for more than a decade, leading to the loss of many innocent lives and properties, including farmlands.
The establishment of operation Hadarin Daji has drastically reduced the rate of criminal activities in the affected northwest States.
In his quest to rid the zone of banditry and kidnappings, Ahmed organised a two-day training to enhance air communication between air and ground troops during operations
“Most bandits have fled Zamfara State to other states, and the state has ceased from being a colony of banditry.
“So I commend the troops for their relentless efforts in the fight against the bandits,” he said.
