Minister:The government is committed to attracting investments to APCON.

Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
The Federal Government has approved the implementation of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) reform initiatives to strengthen the advertising ecosystem, encourage inclusive growth, and attract investment, according to Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture.
The Minister made this remark recently at the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria’s 49th Annual General Meeting in Epe, Lagos State (AAAN).
“As many of you are aware, the approval of APCON’s ongoing reform initiatives is one of the bold and necessary steps we have recently taken.” “The reform aims to strengthen the advertising ecosystem, encourage inclusive growth, and attract investment,” he said.
Advertising and brand marketing are prime examples of sectors where consumer data is critical, according to the Minister’s paper, “The New World Order: Digital Transformation in Communication,” highlighting the need to leverage technology for direct engagement with audiences.
He stated that recognizing the power of technology in brand communication necessitated the formation of the Ministerial Task Team on Audience Measurement System to provide a legal and constitutional framework for a national, systemic, accountable, and data-driven understanding of the impact of communication on consumer behavior.
In his welcome address, Mr. Steve Babaeko, President of AAAN, praised the Minister for his tireless efforts to reposition Nigeria’s advertising ecosystem.
The Minister was accompanied to the event by Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, Registrar/Chief Executive of APCON, and Mr. Folorunsho Coker, Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation.
