Mother, two daughters die in Jigawa fire incident
A 30-year-old mother Khadija Ibrahim and her two daughters have died in a fire incident in Tsangarwa village Gwaram Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
Spokesman of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC, Command CSC. Adamu Shehu in a statement issued to Track News, said the incident happened on Friday, the 16th day of December 2022 at about 2300hrs when a fire razed down a hut while the victims were sleeping.
According to him “the fire incident engulfed a hut where a 30-year-old Khadija Ibrahim was sleeping together with her two daughters, 4-year-old Aisha Ibrahim and 2-year-old Rabi Ibrahim.
He explained that both the mother and her two daughters were completely consumed by the inferno as none of the victims was rescued alive.
CSC Adamu said the cause of the fire was unknown, but neighbours said it might not be unconnected with a charcoal fire that was meant to keep them warm.
He said the remains of the victims were taken to a hospital and confirmed dead by a medical doctor and were buried according to Islamic rites
