Nigerian professional footballer who now plays as a forward for Nigerian club Kano Pillars, Ahmed Musa has led his club side to victory against Adamawa United.

TrackNews Online understands that Musa who joined pillars a few months ago was handed the club’s captain band out of respect by Rabiu Ali who is the club’s main captain, to challenge Adamawa United in their clash at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna on Sunday.

Ali netted an 80th-minute goal for Pillars to help the Kano-based side secure a 1-0 victory in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

TrackNews Online understands the match was Musa’s first game since returning to the home country club after leaving the Arab side many months ago. The Adamawa-based side had held Pillars tight for the most part of the tie, but Pillars were handed a lifeline in the 70th minute after Ali was upended inside the box.

The forward, however, spilt the resultant penalty, blazing his effort wide. An opportunity, however, opens up for Ali in later minutes running onto a through pass from Musa to give Pillars a 1-0 win.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles Head Coach, Gernot Rohr, has announced the release of a 31-man provisional squad list for the upcoming friendly against Cameroon.
TrackNews Online reports that the 31-man list will be trimmed to 23 players before the match which is billed for June 4 in Vienna, Austria.
