‘My suspension is a conspiracy’ – Ex Aregbesola’s aide
Barrister Kolapo Alimi, a former aide to Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, who was recently suspended by leadership the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Friday has reacted to his suspension.
Alimi, a senior legislative aide to the Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and a former aide of Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola who was governor of Osun State for two terms.
DAILY POST reports that Alimi was suspended by APC Elerinsi Ward 9, Irepodun South Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Erin-Osun for alleged anti-party activity.
He described his suspension as “a ruse that can not stand the test of time.”
“The purported suspension came to me as a rude shock because according to Article 21 of APC Constitution, “SUSPENSION” is categorized under “PUNISHMENT” and before any member could be punished, such a person ought to have been alleged of any form of misconduct against the party and ought to be given the opportunity to defend him/herself.
“In the instant case, nobody has accused me of any misconduct either orally or by writing, formally or informally. And I was not invited by any Committee of our party, either at ward, Local Government level or at State Level to come and defend any allegations whatsoever.

“Meanwhile, I need to state that, I’ve not received the purported letter of suspension, immediately I receive it, I will take appropriate action on it in line with the relevant provisions of APC Constitution and the 1999 constitution of Nigeria as amended,” he said.
