N6.9bn alleged fraud: Again, Emefiele’s arraignment stalled

Arraignment of the suspended Central Bank of Nigeria governor, Godwin Emefiele, over an alleged N6.9bn procurement fraud, was again on Wednesday stalled.
Emefiele’s arraignment was first stalled on August 17 due to the absence of the second defendant in the case, Sa’adatu Yaro.
Yaro was said to have fallen ill and unable to make it to court.
Presiding judge, Justice Hamza Muazu, had then adjourned the case till August 23 for the arraignment of the defendants.
On Wednesday, however, the matter was not listed on the case list of the Court.
No explanation was offered journalists on why it was not listed.
Lawyers for both parties were also not in court.
