Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, has lamented the Naira’s depreciation.

Adeboye lamented that Nigeria’s situation had deteriorated to the point where the country’s currency was no longer worth the paper on which it was printed.

He spoke in response to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) redesign of the Naira.

Godwin Emefiele, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, announced the redesign of the N100, N200, N500, and N1000 notes.

Emefiele previously stated that the redesigned naira notes would be available on December 5, 2022.

Pastor Adeboye responded, saying, “We need to ask God for mercy because what’s going on in our country doesn’t even make sense anymore.”

“Our Naira is now worth less than the paper it is printed on.” While people are going hungry, trying to find enough money to buy bread, our Moses are thinking of making the Naira more beautiful, so that even if it can’t buy bread, it can at least look beautiful.”
