TRACKING ___The Deputy State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State, Ogbeibiri Orubebe has slammed the faction of the party loyal to the Minister of State for Petroleum Resource, Chief Timipre Sylva over threats of expulsion issued against Former Minister, Heineken Lokpobiri and others for attending a political summit organised to discuss issue of zoning of vacant West Senatorial seat in the state.

According to Orubebe, though the Sylva’s faction of the party who issued the threat againt Heineken and others does not have the constitutional right to do so as stipulated in party’s constitution 2014 as amended with such power is vested in the National Executive Committee, the threat is empty, shameful and shows they don’t have grasp with political trends in the state.

The APC Deputy Chairman, Chief Ogbeibiri Orubebe, who represented the Former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri at the Zoning summit in Sagbama on Saturday, said the statement credited to the Publicity Secretary of the APC, Doifie Ola, is shameful, without substance, empty and shows that they are ot up-to-date on political happenings in the state.

According to Orubebe, “I was mandated by our party leader, Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri to attend the all political parties summit where issue of zoning between Sagbama and Ekeremor areas of Bayelsa West Senatorial District were discussed and settled. It is ahameful that some persons within the sylva fold of our party will turn themselves into an interlopa that delve into issues settled among brothers long agoa”

“It should be known that the zoning arrangement between Ekeremor and Sagbama has been in place before the formation of the APC. And that it has rotated peacefully without bloodshed or acrimony. Senator Emmanuel Diffa from Sagbama started in 1999 with four years in the Senate and the 8years of Sagbama was completed by Sen. J. K. Branbaifa. Ekeremor turn in the Senate was handed over to Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri for two tenure before it moved back to Sagbama where Sen. Foster Ogola did four years and Sen. Lawrence Ekhujiakpor took over. ”

” Now that circumstance has thrown up Sen. Ehujiakpor to be Deputy Governor, the Sagbama people has the right to complete their eight years by producing a Senator. It is right for the people of the areas to keep such agreement. Those raising dissent voice against such agreement are toddlers in politics. ”

” in their own area in Bayelsa East Senatorial District, the zoning and power rotation is being followed from Sen. Okilo days among Ogbia, Brass and Nembe areas. Why are they interest in disrupting that between Ekeremor and Sagbama to leave their own. It is an height of irresponsibility. ”

” As far as we are concerned, Bayelsa Political leaders support the zoning arrangment between Sagbama and Ekeremor. Every politicians in Bayelsa know about their mutual agreement. ”

Orubebe urged members of the APC in the Bayelsa West Senatorial District of the State to disregard the statement credited to Doifie Ola on the threat to expel Senator Heineken Lokpobiri and others for attending the political summit,” these people will always sit in Abuja and issue empty threats.”
