National Assembly Increased N27 Trillion Budget To Accommodate Whatever Fancies They Have: Osuntokun

A Chieftain of the Labour Party, Akin Osuntokun, has faulted how the government wants to spend part of the trillions of naira which has been set aside as the budget of Nigeria. He stated that the government should not have prioritized spending billions of naira on cars.
Akin Osuntokun made this known in an interview with a journalist on Arise Television. During the interview, Akin Osuntokun said, “few days ago, the senate or the national assembly increased the N27 trillion budget by another N2 trillion padding in other to accommodate whatever fancies they have.”
“Considering the present state of Nigeria, will you prioritise buying jeeps for each member of the national assembly? They will not use the cars for the oversight or whatever they call it. They will not drive that car from Abuja to whatever part of the country they come from, they will take a flight. There is a lot of irresponsibility about that.”
