NDDC: Ijaw Group salutes Buhari, Akpabio, Akwa, on appointment of Udengs Eradiri
•••Insists on constitution of the board within the stipulated time
The Ijaw traditional body has applauded the decision of President Buhari to appoint a former President of the IYC, Engr Udengs Eradiri as SA on youths to the NDDC as timely.
The statement was made available by the group’s coordinator of the Egbesu brotherhood, Apostle Bodmas Prince kemepadei.
Apostle Bodmas stated that the choice of udengs cuts across party lines, and had raised high the confidence of Niger delta youths to the visions of the Buhari led administration for the region.
Apostle Bodmas further extolled the qualities of Udengs, describing him as a peace ambassador, with skills and experience to build bridges to unify youths of the region.
Apostle Bodmas equally hailed Hon. Godswill Akpabio and Mr. Effiong Akwa for supporting the choice of Udengs while also calling on youths of the region to join hands with Udengs and bring the vision of the commission to bear.
Apostle Bodmas further queried the decision to appoint a sole administrator, and noted that the region expects the current leadership of the NDDC not be permanent and should only last the duration of the Forensic Auditing after which he stated that a board should be inaugurated inline with the act.
” The leadership of the Egbesu brotherhood celebrates with Engr. Udengs Eradiri on his new feat, it is our conviction that Udengs has once again been presented with an opportunity to continue his good work to advocate, speak for youths of the region, and build bridges of unity, this should be a call to service
” We equally salute President muhammadu Buhari whom we are aware has made this appointment possible, the region is grateful for the choice of Udengs who cuts across all party lines
” It is in same vain that we appreciate the minister of Niger delta affairs, Hon. Godswill Akpabio and Mr. Effiong Akwa for their supportive role in the emergence of Udengs who has also been a pillar of support during our days of trial
“Nevertheless, we will not forget that the appointment of a sole administrator is alien to the act that constituted the commission but for the purpose of the forensic audit which we believe would expose the corruption in the commission, we are expecting that the federal government would keep to it words and inaugurate the board after the audit as this is the demands of our people
” We call on youths of the Niger delta to support Udengs, we call for unity of purpose and once again express our satisfaction with the appointment”, the group statements reads.
