N’Delta rural women laud Ijaw Women of America for water project, food distribution

YENAGOA____The Niger Delta Rural Women for Sustainable Development (NDRWSD) has commended the Ijaw Women of America (IWA) for their consistent efforts geared toward improving the lives and livelihood of the rural dwellers.
The rural women recalled how the IWA has facilitated water projects across numerous communities over the years, saying “it has reduced water-borne diseases among people of the oil-rich region.”
This was contained in a statement signed by the group’s coordinator, Hon. Helen Inafa-Bob, and made available to newsmen on Sunday.
Inafa-Bob described the water scheme as a noble and well-thought-out initiative that has greatly benefited the rural dwellers.
“Our industrious sisters in America have been giving back so much to their motherland. Hence, their recent gesture of distributing varieties of food items during the yuletide season in the Niger Delta region did not come as a surprise to us,” she said.
