Never compare Messi with Maradona – Aguero breaks silence
Sergio Aguero has stated that comparing Lionel Messi to Diego Maradona is something he “never liked.”
The former Manchester City striker believes both men should be respected as individuals rather than constantly pitted against one another.
“Those comparisons never sat well with me. And it isn’t about who is a more powerful symbol. Each one holds a special place in the hearts of Argentines.
“I prefer to think about how fortunate we Argentines are to have Diego and Leo, both of whom were the best players in history in their respective eras,” Aguero told Stake.
Aguero has a close friendship with Messi, prompting him to name the PSG superstar as his child’s godfather.
