2022/2023 Bayelsa State Academic Calendar, And Gentle Emelah Undue Quest For An Award To Gain Influence.

Ordinarily Education is meant to impact knowledge, information, and also build the character of individual human beings. Educating the youth helps to develop a set of values and ideals that guide the adolescents for self-development.

In Nigeria, there has been growing concern over the decline in values among adolescents and the need to empower them through education.

It is beyond any iota of doubt that education is central to the development and improvement of the lives of youth globally, and as such has been identified as a priority in internationally agreed development goals, including the millennium development goals and world programme of action for the youth.

Education is also important in eradicating poverty, hunger and in promoting sustained, inclusive, and equitable economic growth and sustainable development.

In the face of all these benefits, Nigerian leaders ( Dr Gentle Emelah commissioner of education Bayelsa State) seem to have forgotten the need for increased efforts towards education accessibility, quality, and affordability, which is central to global development efforts.

Since 2012 Nigerian methrological agency predicted continue annual flooding in Nigeria, particularly Bayelsa state. Bayelsa state education sector has been in shambles battling to survive the disarray caused by the annual flooding in the state.This was believed to have been emanuated from confusion, mare’s, mess and disorder created by the annual flooding.

The miracle governor of the state His Excellency Dist.Senator Douye Diri who is in a hurry and desperate to deliver qualitative education for Bayelsans, decided to plan the state academic Year to fit in to the climate change. For instance, Bayelsa state ministry of education will in a few days from now rounded her 2021/2022 academic session, “precisely on 22 July 2022.

To this end, every concerned Bayelsans would expect that Bayelsa State commissioner of education, dishonorable Dr Gentle Emeleh will be busy planning, engineering and engaging critical stakeholders to ensure that the Bayelsa State schools, students and parents are prepared to cope with the new academic calendar.

Especially, reaching out to traditional rulers of different communities and involving the governor to making ensure that the Bayelsa schools are in a good condition and ready to kickoff 2022/2023 which is slated to begin on 31st. July 2022, when other neighboring states education in Nigeria will be embarking on long vacation on said date. What that implies is that Bayelsa students will not be having a rest as supposed.

Instead, the honorable commissioner of education was busy posing for pictures and sorting for fake, disproportionate, unwarranted and inordinate AWARDs from disgruntled, unscrupulous bellyaching, kvetching, criminals, unruly elements. Just to gain lost political influence from his complicated and dashed political planned move on the just concluded Peoples democracy party party primaries the state. Without considering that it only arboreal animal can fly above a tree. (misplaced priority)

The story of Zaccheus brings to mind the life of the contemporary Nigerian adolescent. Those who are supposed to protect and care for him through education have decided to keep the books far from his reach, and in its place have given him guns!

Every year, the Nigerian government budget more money for security and leave education to suffer for all it cares, forgetting in a hurry that the surest approach to obtaining security is educating the masses, especially the youth.

The most perturbed one is that the Hon. Gentle Emelah was fully aware that the refractories and recalcitrants AWARD givers impersonated the President of Ohaneze ndigbo Bayelsa State chapter and the leadership of Ohaneze ndigbo Bayelsa State HON ONUMA JOHNSON who happens to be his colleague and Special Adviser to the Miracle governor on non Indigenes Affairs.

Will it be wrong to say? “That Dr Gentle Emeleh is the sponsor of the major challenges facing Ohaneze ndigbo Bayelsa State” or will it be a misrepresentation, that the commissioner of education who is in need of concentration and definite determination to tackle the dwindling and poor academic performance of Bayelsa students. No wonder the governor have to push him the commissioner to take spot study of delapideted school building that was in circulation in the social media space recently.

Yes! It will be right to say that the commissioner of education Dr Gentle Emeleh harbours criminals, recalcitrants and unruly organisation members just to have an unconstitutional AWARDs and to stall and hamper Igbos development in the state(Anti-Igbos ).

Finally, I wish the commissioner of education Bayelsa State will eschew pride and prejudice against the development of Ohaneze ndigbo in Bayelsa State by washing off his hands from null and void, inordinate AWARDs from disgruntled, reprobates, deceitful elements. Especially, Chief Chinedu Arthur Ugwa and his antis to retain his image.
