2023: Goodluck Jonathan Presidential Campaign Posters Flood APC Secretariat In Abuja
Campaign posters urging former President Goodluck Jonathan to join the 2023 presidential race have emerged at the National Secretariat of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja.
The posters which were seen on the walls of the party secretariat carried the inscription ”Goodluck Jonathan You Must Run.”
Similar posters were seen on the fences of many buildings on the Blantyre street leading to the APC Secretariat, further fueling speculations that Jonathan may be nursing an ambition to return to the Aso Rock Villa in 2023.
It is however unclear those behind the posters which had also been seen earlier in some locations in Abuja as previously reported by Tracknews.
There had been rumours of negotiations between the Jonathan camp and some big shots within the APC for the former President to defect to the party ahead of the 2023 elections and emerge the APC presidential candidate.
Jonathan is believed to be a preferred candidate for the group because he is only eligible to use a term in office and then power can go back to the north.
However, the Jonathan camp has on several occasions denied rumours that the Bayelsa-born politician is interested in staging a comeback to the presidency nor is he planning to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Not to be outdone also, the Middle Belt Progressive Forum recently offered Jonathan the expression of interest and nomination forms of any political party of his choice should he decide to join the 2023 presidential race.
The forum made the offer in a statement issued by its convener, Paul Agada in which he stressed that the former president has the support of the forum.
Agada said Jonathan is a man of peace who has shown that his personal ambition is not above the peace and stability of the country, adding that his rare qualities have earned the forum’s backing.
