7 Killed In Rivers Road Accidents

NO fewer than seven persons were killed, yesterday, in two separate road accidents in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital and Abua/Odual local government area of Rivers State.

Five people, including a madman, were killed in two separate accidents, involving one vehicle, in GRA Phase 2 and 3, Port Harcourt, two women were killed in a road accident that occurred in Egbolom community in Abua/Odual local government area of the state.

TRACK NEWS Weekend file gathered that a car with three occupants had hit and killed two people near the Port Harcourt Polo Club and sped away without stopping.

The development, it was further gathered, prompted a hot chase by a police team stationed near the scene of the accident, forcing the driver of the car to lose control around Mandela Car Wash in GRA 3, killing himself and two others.

In a related development, two women, believed to be members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were hit by a vehicle alofng the Ahoada-Abua-Degema Road in Egbolom community, by a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV).

The duo were said to be heading to a neighbouring community for a sensitisation programme of the APC for Abua/Odual local government area of the state.
