BAYELSA: Don’t Forget Your Duty – Gov. Diri Tells Cabinet

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, the Governor of Bayelsa State has called on members of the state executive council not to forget that their performance, reminding them that it was the yardstick to judge their success during and after the tenure.

The Governor made this known on 24th August, 2022 during the 85th weekly state executive council meeting held at the Government House in Yenagoa, the state capital.

He told the cabinet members to work collectively harder to bring the image of the state into glory.

Also, he expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of their commitment so far, adding it is an indication that the state is movings progressively.

Meanwhile, the Gov. Diri charged them to put in their best more than before in the second half of their third year in office, stressing that the race was not over yet.

This is according to a statement credited to the executive leader but signed by Daniel Alabrah, the Chief Press Secretary to the Bayelsa State Governor and obtained exclusively by Track News Nigeria.

Part of the statement reads: “Your performance is the yardstick by which the generality of Bayelsans judge whether you are doing well or not. I am sure that every commissioner is putting up his best to relate with the public and also to project this administration in very good light.

“So far, the reports we have received from the public indicate that you are doing well and, by extension, we are doing well.
“So, I charge you once again that in this second half of our third year in office to do more than what you have done already. It is very likely that you will feel that you have done so much. But you are running a race and until you have crossed the line, you have won.”

Equally, Governor Diri further appreciated the people of Bayelsa for their support to his administration and pledged that they will not fail them.

He promised to do more on human capacity building and infrastructure development within the available resources of the state.
