Bobrisky Did Not Stay Out of Jail But Enjoy Privileges FGs Investigative Panel Says.
The investigative panel set up by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to probe the allegation that cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, spent his six-months jail term in a private apartment and not in a custodial center, has dismissed the claim.
Uju Agomoh who is the Executive Director and founder of Prisoners’ Rehabilitation and Welfare Action (PRAWA) and who served as a member of the panel, stated that there was no evidence to support the claims that Bobrisky stayed outside the prison during his sentence, which lasted from April 12, 2024, to August 5, 2024.
“The panel did not find any evidence thus far that suggested Mr. Okuneye slept outside the custodial center during the period of his imprisonment’’Vanguard quotes Uju as saying She clarified that Bobrisky served his six-month correctional sentence with the usual remission applicable to such cases.
She also mentioned that investigations showed that he received certain privileges during his time behind bars.
The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, inaugurated the panel in Abuja on Monday, September 30 following the relesse of an audio by VDM where Bobrisky claimed to have served his sentence in a flat near the prison
