The Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC) on Thursday claimed that the Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje has many graft cases to answer while in office and when his tenure ends in 2023.

The Executive Secretary of the committee, Prof. Sadiq Isah Radda, stated this while speaking at the 26th Anti-Corruption Situation Room (ACSR) Assessment of 2021.

The programme was organized by the Human and Environmental Development Agenda (HEDA), a civil society organization, at the Rock-view Royale Hotel.

It was tagged, “The State of Anticorruption in Nigeria: Assessment of 2021 and agenda for 2022”.

Prof Radda in his statement noted that the All Progressives Congress Governor “has many cases to answer while in office and even more after living office”.

Other discussions in the meeting include, how corruption fought back in 2021, the experience of whistleblowers, anti-corruption actors and journalists in the country.

Radda in his statement pointed to how the son of Governor Ganduje filed a petition at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission against his mother.

He said, “You can see in Kano, Ganduje has many cases to answer while in office. He will answer more out of the office and sadly for the first time in Nigeria a son is taking his mother to the EFCC.”

The Chairman of HEDA, Olanrewaju Suraj, while speaking at the meeting said the purpose of his organization’s engagement is for Nigeria’s collective good.

Suraj states, “We are not working for any government or political party or any person, but for Nigeria and that’s the purpose of our engagement and we must stand in solidarity to each other.”
