Governor Zulum Distributes Trucks Load of Rice

Borno state government has distributed the twenty truckloads of rice procured by the federal government as part of efforts to ameliorate hardship occasioned by the rise in prices of food items and other basic amenities.

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum personally supervised the distribution of the commodities to thirty five thousand deserving beneficiaries in Monguno town supported by the senator representing Northern Borno, Muhammad Tahir Monguno and other government officials.

Monguno local government in northern Borno hosts internally displaced persons from about four local government areas affected by the insurgency necessitating continued distribution of palliative there.

This informed the decision to distribute the twenty trucks of rice sent to Borno by the federal authorities in the community to reach out to the vulnerable and less privileged. with each of the thirty-five thousand male beneficiaries receiving a 25kg bag of rice.

Additionally, each of them got a 10kg bag of cowpeas, procured by the state authorities as farm inputs to enable them to participate in this year’s farming season.

Similarly, each of the forty five thousand female residents got clothing material procured by the state government and ten thousand naira as part of the financial inclusion policy of the state government.

Governor Zulum who was full of praises for the Tinubu administration for the continued show of compassion to the plight of the citizenry also acknowledged receipt of ninety trucks of fertilizer free of charge for distribution to farmers to boost food production across the country.

While in Monguno, Governor Zulum also inspected the ongoing construction of the Dental and Eye Hospital as well as the School of Nursing as part of efforts to provide healthcare needs of the people and to bridge the manpower gap in the health sector as well as the Dental hospital where he expressed satisfaction with the quality and speed of work, urging the officials handling the project to expedite action. The Governor pledged to recruit more personnel to ensure effective services for the institutions.
