How three people died while returning from RCCG convention
By Adeleye Kunle
Three people died on their way home from the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s 70th Annual Convention (RCCG), Track News reports.
The TrackNews has learned that a bus carrying 15 RCCG members was traveling at excessive speeds, defying passengers’ requests for caution.
According to reports, the bus, APP 297 YC, had a burst tyre, lost control, and somersaulted.
The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement (TRACE) Corps confirmed that the accident occurred around 5:22pm on the Abeokuta-Kobape-Siun road at the Day Waterman College axis.
Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps in Ogun, also stated that the crash involved nine female adults, four male adults, one male child, and one female child.
Okpe stated that ten people were injured (eight female adults and two male adults), but that the male and female children were rescued unharmed.
According to her, the three victims were two men and one woman.
“The lone crash’s suspected cause was excessive speed when approaching a dangerous bend, which resulted in loss of control.”
“The injured victims were transported to State Hospital, Ijaye Abrokuta, for medical attention, and the corpses were deposited at the same hospital’s mortuary,” she explained.
