”It’s shocking” – Police reacts as Abuja pastor brings Ak47 to altar [PICS]
Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Nigeria Police Force’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), on Monday said security agents will investigate the presiding pastor of the Abuja chapter of the House on the Rock, Uche Aigbe, who on Sunday caused a stir when he mounted the pulpit carrying an AK 47.
TrackNews reports that the incident took place during the second service inside the church’s auditorium.
Brandishing the gun, the cleric picked his way to the altar as worshippers looked on.
Reacting to the incident, the police spokesman said Pastor Aigbe lacked the right to bear an AK-47 rifle.
“I have forwarded to the CP FCT to act please,” Adejobi said via Twitter.
“But if it’s true, the pastor will have a case to answer. AK47?? It falls under prohibited Firearms in Nigeria, and no one bears it except an officer of the law, and not all of them have the right, selected sec operatives, but no individual has the right to bear it.
“The FCT police command will investigate it, I trust the new CP FCT, CP Sadiq,.. it’s shocking.”
