JUST IN: Former Speaker, Na’Abba, dies at 65
Former Speaker of the House of Representatives Ghali Umar Na’Abba is dead. He was aged 65.
A younger sister to the former speaker, Hussain Na’Abba who confirmed the death said the late politician passed on at about 3:00 am Wednesday at the National Hospital, Abuja.
The family member said the 8th speaker of Nigeria’s green chamber who be buried in Kano later in the day.
The rumoured death of the Kano-born politician went viral on social media in May 2020 during the era of the deadly COVID-19. But Na’Abba who was away in London refuted the rumour.
Ghali was the speaker of the House of Representatives during the tenure of President Olusegun Obasanjo and a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
